Visiting is fun, but being home is heavenly

I am home from Vermont. It was a wonderful trip, even if I have been rather low on spoons. It was absolutely lovely spending time with my Vermont family. I also saw my Lyme doc, who had hoped I would be doing a bit better than I was but was overall pleased with my progress. We are to continue as planned: slow and gentle increases on the clarithromiacin and hydrocloroquinine as I feel able until I am up to a full pill of each twice a day. We are going to keep a close eye on my thyroid, which has been fluctuating lately, and my iron and folate levels (slightly on the anemic side and my folate levels were a bit off). Otherwise I'm to stick to my diet, eat more protein, and call when necessary in between visits.

We stopped for a very short visit (couple of days) with one of my other heart sisters who lives in upstate New York. We went with her to pick up her newly adopted cat, and got to be there for the meet and greet with her older cat. The meet and greet went pretty well all things considered. The cats mostly ignored one another, with a couple of warning hisses here and there.

We made it home today and I am absolutely wiped. After two weeks of sleeping on couches, comfy though they were, I am very happy to be home. I also do not do as well with long car trips as I used to. With the Lyme (and it's treatment) I am far more prone to stiffness and motion sickness. If it's a really twisty road I can even get motion sick while driving, which is massively annoying. I will probably go to bed very soon. And once I recover some of my spoons I can work on getting unpacked as I now have all of my stuff. We retrieved the boxes I left in Vermont while we were up there.
