A counterpoint to Forgetting.

Remembering

Pain,
sorrow,
comfort, joy.
Memories drift
through my mind. Good, bad,
mine. They shape me. I long
sometimes to forget the worst,
but the best would go too. Hauntings
are not always bad. Freedom comes with
understanding rather than forgetting.

Thank you. I like the first one better myself, because it makes a bit more of punch and is spot on to what I was feeling. But this does make such a nice complement, balancing out the sentiment of the first and offering a more hopeful view. Should I ever publish anything or share these on a different site, I think I will publish them together.
