I was feeling the need to write today. So I headed over to [community profile] napowrimo to check out today's prompt. Turns out it was one that struck a cord. :) I liked the etheree format so much I decided to write another one. So here's my first poem in celebration of National Poetry Month.

Forgetting

Drift
away
memory.
Stop haunting me.
Why is it that I
can forget where I last
set my keys or a needed
word? The location of my car
eludes me. But you, you, are right there.
Always. Let go. Free me from your embrace.

Your poem inspires in me two responses, both already written, one my own and another another's:

I like the etheree format a lot, even if I still hasn't tried it yet <3

It's a lovely poem, it really resonates with me (where are my keys? Where's my glasses? Where's my head? ;P)

Ooooh. That's a really nice format for this poem. ^-^ And apparently I'm still stuck in "give really short feedback" mode. :/ But I do like this. I like the way it builds up and the way the lines work with it. It's got a lovely stacato effect at the beginning and then it branches out into something a bit more fluid. It's a really lovely effect.

And the sentiment is such a powerful one. <3
