Signal Boost: Filling a car with goods for Hurricane Sandy victims

So two of my friends are heading down to Jersey City to help out as medical volunteers with the Red Cross on Tuesday. one is an EMT-B and the other is an RN. They have a place to stay and would like to fill their car up with goods that the Hurricane victims need. Ceredwyn, one of the two going, has set up a page on microgiving to raise some money to buy items with.

Thought I would put this out there for those who might be interested in helping. Thank you.

Unfortunately, that site doesn't use Paypal. Do either of your friends have a PayPal account I could send money to? It won't be much, but I would like to help where I can and I don't trust the Red Cross as far as I can throw my Durango.

Ceredwyn does. Her paypal account is associated with the following email: ceredwyn [at] gmail [dot] com. I don't blame you for not trusting the Red Cross. I don't mind volunteering and giving my actual work when I can as they are one of the few groups coordinating efforts sometimes. But when it comes to donating money I prefer to donate to select places and people where I know what my money is being used for.

Donated. My family got lucky when Sandy came through (They're in CT, but away from the coast), but one of my friends lives in NJ and is not so lucky; power has been done for days and it took him forever to get gas to get to CT.

Thank you so much for donating! Glad to hear that your family is okay, but sorry to hear about your friend. We lucked out this time in Vermont and were not hit very hard by Sandy. But all of us remember Irene and want to help others as they helped us.
