Wish lists

Saw this meme going around and thought, why not.

Step One
- Make a post (public, friends locked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two
- Surf around your friendslist (or friends friends, or just random journals, or holiday_wishes/wish_list) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

Throwing up wishlists are hard for me. I generally use my amazon one only as a way of tracking the things that have grabbed my interest. My number one wish is impossible for anyone other than a cosmic power to grant--not being sick would be oh so lovely. But if you are interested here are things that will help me keep my sanity. I'm only going to list five, but each one contains multitudes of options.

1. I love geeky things and fannish things. Cute plushies and fun t-shirts are always a win. My favorite fandoms for swag: Miyasaki films, Alice in Wonderland, Marvel Cinematic Universe, Dr. Who, Star Trek, Harry Potter (I'm most likely some combo of a Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff), Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Lord of the Rings. Icons and fanart are also tons of fun!

2. Fanfic is fun and I love crossovers and hurt-comfort fic. Also very fond of gen stories and family of choice building. Fandoms and favorite characters are many but here are some highlights: Marvel Cinematic Universe--including Agents of SHIELD (Clint, Steve, Coulson, Melinda May, Natasha, Maria Hill, Darcy, Tony, Bruce, Pepper---so many people to love); Gundam Wing (Duo, Wufei, and Trowa are my favorites there); Torchwood (Ianto, Jack--really fond of stories about Ianto); NCIS (Tony); Seaquest (Lucas, Tim); Magnificent 7 (Vin and Ezra are favs--but the others are fun too); DueSouth; Buffy the Vampire Slayer; How to Train Your Dragon; Harry Potter and Sherlock are sometimes reads; and crossovers (Did I mention that have a huge weakness for crossovers? That's how I've ended up with so many fandoms).

3. I'm very fond of teas and coffees (though cannot have anything with candied fruit or added sweeteners of any sort--including all natural sweeteners like honey, molasses, stevia, etc).

4. I have a weakness for soft things: plushies, scarves, hats, sweaters, you name it. :)

5. Lastly this is my amazon wishlist (which is categorized by type of object--miscellaneious objects is the default list but you can find games, clothes, books, ebooks, music, and movies listed on the left. I tend to put fannish t-shirts as a low priority because they are not something I get to where often enough to justify the expense of.

If you need an address, even if just to send random postcards to, please PM me.
