Whoohooo! Grades and workstudy, ftw.
May. 31st, 2011 10:26 pmGrades are in and I did way better than I hoped, especially with all Very Bad Days (TM) that I had this semester. I got Bs in both Civil Procedure and Legal Writing. I'm particularly happy about the Civil Procedure grade since that is the class I missed the most. I got B+s in both Criminal Law and Property (Law School is silly and actually divides the grades into a plus/regular/minus system). But the grade that made me really happy...I mean dancing in the street sort of happy...was my grade for Constitutional Law, which was an A-! This was a killer course, with a shit load of reading and no clear rules, just lots of gray area. I got a B in the first half of the course, and was hoping for a B this go round. Color me presently surprised. ::happy dance::
I also started my work study at the library. Today was my first official (and long) day at the circulation desk. Since it was also the first day of summer term, the librarians were in meetings much of the day and I was the only work study on duty up front from 8-5. It was very busy and chaotic. I was very thankful for my eight plus years in clerical and reception work, since that experience means I can sound calm and professional even when I'm unsure of what I'm supposed to be doing, or how to answer a question. I handled every problem and issue that came up with only a few mistakes (not bad for only two five hour training sessions), and stayed busy all day. I was exhausted by five, but it was a nice, accomplished sort of exhausted.
