Things at work have been...interesting, for lack of a better term, since I started back in March. The company I work for developed in a slightly different path from most American-based corporations and only recently started developing its business development/sales/marketing type department. The idea was to have a team that effectively worked as an extension of the President and supported sales and marketing. There have been a lot of hiccups in this process, and I am only coming into it rather late in the whole mess. But you can probably guess from a few of my posts the last few months that it's been stressful and anxiety making. The past week has brought some serious changes, which I think may ultimately be a good thing.

Just to reassure folks, the change is more to the structure of the team and not a change in my employment. The company has hired a new CIO (and when did CIOs become Chief Innovation Officers rather than Chief Information Officers?), and he is working with my team to redefine our roles and refine our processes. He's also working with us to reassign some of the workload items that were shoved off onto us because there was no one else to do them. There were also some other changes in my team's management. Some expected, or at least suspected, and some completely unexpected (at least from my perspective). My head is still spinning a bit from all the change, but I'm hopeful that this will be what my team needs and what I need to feel like I am capable and comfortable in my job. Instead of being pushed into being client facing or doing sales, which I was really worried about, I will more than likely find my own tasks centered around writing and back-end support of sales and business development efforts. We shall see how things progress.

Tomorrow I'll be traveling to Vermont for my visit to my Lyme Doc, and then I get to spend a long weekend with family there. So that is very happy making. I have some work projects that I'll be trying to finish up during that time, and am super thankful that I can work remotely when I need to. All in all it isn't too hard to find things to be cautiously optimistic about.

All that change must be very anxiety-making, even if it does sound like it is settling into something reasonably positive. I hope you're doing okay. <3

Chance and I both dislike change, and we send you *happy thoughts* about time with your family and hopes that you get some cooler weather and good news from your doc.
