I spent the day with friends old and new, ate loads of amazingly good food, and am now settling in for the night. My awesome present was a pair of fingerless gloves that I've been lusting over. My hands are always freezing when I type. This ought to help immensely. They are much easier to type with than full gloves, and are very toasty (not to mention lovely).
I've been house/pet sitting for other friends and enjoying a quiet vacation. Right now I'm stoking the wood-stoves back up to ward off the cold winter night. I have my cozy pajamas on and am settling in for a quiet night of reading. Maybe some knitting later. I'm about halfway through the scarf I'm working on. It is my second knitting project ever, and my first in many years. I have plans to work on as simple afghan as my next project. A friend gave me three skeins of lovely blue homespun. I think I will take a sample of it in with me and find a nice complementary color and do a simple checkerboard pattern.
