Loving the internship so far...
Jun. 5th, 2013 07:51 pmThree days in and I am very happy with my internship. Hopefully that will continue to be the case. ;) Love my co-workers and the place I'm working. Not so wild about the traffic on the drive in. I'm shifting my schedule to 10 am - 6 pm tomorrow (we work with a lot of clients in other time zones), so hopefully the commute will no longer take me a hour. So far I'm absolutely wiped by the end of the day, and I crash pretty early, but hopefully as I adapt to the new schedule I will not use up quite so many spoons. If I am not particularly social during the week, this is why.
I am settling in nicely with my sister and her daughter. We are already planning a couple of family adventures this fall (including FaerieCon in November-which just makes me all kind of excited). It is looking more and more like this internship may well turn into a job after I finish school in December. I really like the company, and my co-workers (many of whom are also geeks), and wouldn't mind staying in this area at all. So I'll be keeping my fingers crossed.
Might be a month or two before I'm up to doing too much on the weekends, but eventually I should have enough spoons to start adding some social time in there too. :) All in all life is good.

Date: 2013-06-06 01:13 am (UTC)I didn't realize you were living with your sister and her daughter! I hope that's also nice:D
And I'm feeling less guilty that I have no extra spoons to invite you over at the moment. So tapped out right now.

Date: 2013-06-06 12:43 pm (UTC)I have four adoptive older sisters: one in Vermont, one in upstate New York, one in North Carolina, and one here. I also have a set of adoptive/chosen parents in Vermont. It is a rather large group of extended chosen family. :)
I completely understand on the spoons front right now. When I get home in the evening I am absolutely wiped.
