Please cross your metaphoric fingers for me, I had a phone interview today for with a company in Fairfax, VA that does all kinds of litigation support stuff (computer forensics, ediscovery, trial consulting). I spoke with three leaders of their trial consulting division, one of whom I had spoken with at the LegalTech conference. The phone interview went very, very well and they are going to start the ball rolling for a summer internship, including looking into the possibility of paying me since my school does not offer a summer credit for internship opportunity (which means I would have to take 4 credit hours worth of classes in addition to a full time internship in order to take out loans for the summer). The company and position sound amazing and would be a perfect fit for my varied skills (graphic design knowledge, storytelling ability, research guru, legal and analytic skills). It can be a high stress job, but they are willing to work with me on health issues and made it clear that that would not be an issue. This would be an opportunity to hone my skills, work with what sounds like some amazing people (they showed senses of humor during the interview), for a company that apparently prioritizes their employees health and happiness. They asked at the end of the interview if they were "in competition" with anyone else for me. So it sounds incredibly hopeful, but I know how things can go awry. I should hear back from them next week or the week after. All good thoughts, prayers, energy and well wishes are appreciated.
